Costa Rica Trade Deficit Narrows
Costa Rica’s trade deficit for the first half of the year narrowed to $1.32bn, compared with $1.49bn in the first six months of last year, on the back of falling imports and buoyant exports. Exports totaled $4.7bn – an increase of 18.6% versus 1H 2006 – while imports fell 11.4% to $6.0 bn, reported the Central Bank.
