Argentina Inflation Hits 18%, Say INDEC Employees
Former and current employees of Argentina’s statistics bureau claim the Argentine government has been manipulating the CPI data by using skewed methodology and quashing unfavorable data, according to a Dow Jones report. Official figures for annual inflation stand at 8.6%. But former INDEC officials speaking at a forum held by the opposition party reportedly say real inflation is much closer to 18%.
