Argentine Central Bank Head Walks
Argentina’s central bank head Martin Redrado has formally quit, following a standoff with the government that followed a dispute over reserves transfers, wires report. President Kirchner tried to fire Redrado by decree January 7, but this was overturned by a judge. Redrado had refused to step down in a spat that analysts say highlights rising political risk in Argentina. Former central bank president Mario Blejer is reportedly in the running to replace him.
