Telemar Suspends Bond Issue

Brazil telecom company Telemar Norte Leste, also known as Oi, has suspended a BRL2.25bn ($1.3bn) non-convertible debenture issue. The company says it and Banco Santander, the manager of the sale, decided to suspend the issue to focus on the reorganization of Brasil Telecom, which it purchased last year.
