LatAm Equity Funds Still Bleeding

LatAm equity funds posted outflows for the fourth straight week, losing $14m in the week ended February 17, according to Itau Securities, which bases its estimates on data from EPFR Global and Anbid. Brazil equity funds recorded their second straight week of outflows, losing $45m in the same week. GEM equity funds, meanwhile posted inflows for the first time in 4 weeks for $281m. As for performance, Lipper data show that in the week ended February 18, LatAm equity funds gained 4.27%, but are still down 4.73% year-to-date. Meanwhile, EM equity funds are up 2.02% in the week but weaker by 3.25% ytd. Global small and mid-cap funds are up 2.26% in the week and down 1.22% ytd.
