Duratex Buys Elizabeth Loucas Sanitarias

Duratex, the Brazilian wood and metal products company, will acquire Elizabeth Loucas Sanitarias for BRL80m. According to Duratex, the acquisition of Elizabeth in Joao Pessoa will enable significant geographic diversification in a region of rapid growth in construction activity and aggregate production capacity. The company says the acquisition is part of a BRL400m expansion plans that will carry it through 2012.
