LatAm PE Returns Among EM’s Highest

PE returns in LatAm have outperformed similar investments in other EM regions, according to data from the International Finance Corporation (IFC). LatAm PE funds have generated an IRR of 19.06% over the last 5 years, outperforming EM VC & PE, for which the IRR was 12.83%, and Asian VC & PE, which was 9.22%. The 5-year IRR is second only to Central and Eastern Europe, at 24.09%. The 5-year IRR for LatAm also represents an enormous increase over its 10 year IRR of 1.71%, says the IFC. The data covered 176 PE funds.
