Neelman to Head Azul-Trip

David Neeleman has been named as CEO of Brazil’s Azul, it says, and will also head the combined Azul and Trip entity once the two airlines’ merger is completed. Neeleman, the founder and chairman, replaces Pedro Janot, who moves over to the airline’s board. After the merger, Trip CEO Jose Mario Caprioli will become COO and executive committee chair of Azul Trip. Azul CFO John Rodgerson will take the same position at Azul Trip. The merger was agreed in May, with Azul owning two-thirds of Azul Trip, which should be Brazil’s third-largest airline.
