Mexican PE Shop Closes Fund
EMX Capital has closed its EMX Capital Partners LP fund, raising $68.2m, the Mexican private equity shop says. It will be invested along with EMX’s $124.1m-equivalent Mexican fund. The pair – to be known jointly as the EMX Capital Partners I fund – plans to look for mid-size Mexican investments and enter via equity or equity-linked securities. “EMX Capital Partners I will invest in buyout and growth equity opportunities across industry sectors,” it says. The shop is targeting controlling investments in companies requiring equity capital of $15m-$65m per transaction and plans to invest over a 5-year period. EMX Capital Partners I has previously invested in security and logistics service ILSP and also flexible packaging company AG Convertidora. EMX Capital’s founders are formerly of Carlyle Mexico.
