Softbank Latin America Ventures, the Latin American investment arm of Softbank, the Japanese Internet company and STI Ventures, a venture capital company, have invested $15.6 million in From2.com, a logistics intelligence and service provider for international e-commerce. From2.com provides real-time quotes for international shipment costs such as freight, insurance, duties and taxes. From2.com then ships items of any size weight or value. It offers a range of transportation options and real-time tracking of each shipment.

Softbank also spearheaded a $13 million first round of financing for LearningSoft, the parent company of Spanish- and Portuguese-language educational game sites Jugamos.com and VamosBrincar.com. XL Ventures also contributed to the financing for LearningSoft. These are among the first investments by Softbank Latin America Ventures since it was set up at the beginning of the year. SBVL has $350 million in capital, raised from its parent and the International Finance Corporation, the World Bank’s private sector financing arm.
