Colombia faces a rare opportunity to secure the high and sustainable economic growth expected from one of the most up and coming vibrant emerging market econo LatinFinance presents the first Annual Colombian Investment Forum a gathering of those public and private sector leaders, both international and regional, whose decisions shape the present and future of the Colombian economy.

This forum will examine the key question of whether Colombia can efficiently maintain its position as the leading force in the Andean Region.  The pursuit of growth with the demands of all varied stakeholders, how the corporate sector can benefit from the new pro-growth environment and how the financial sector and capital markets might continue to channel capital to support the rapid development of the leading sectors in the real economy. It will also examine the more micro-level developments beyond the core growth theme, including:

·         The challenges, opportunities, risks, results and benefits corporates face from using the capital markets to achieve growth
·         The key issues Colombia must address to improve the flows of capital to transport, power, water and energy infrastructure?
·         Colombia‘s vulnerability to external shocks and how likely are they to upset the country’s progress? Did the economic downturn caused by the sub-prime debacle in the US have any effect on Colombia?
·         The potential emergence of two Andean blocs, one pro-, the other anti-, US? How justified are these concerns and what are the implications for foreign investment? How should Colombia deal with Chavez and Venezuela?
·         How the already successful Colombian companies can continue to capitalize on the current environment? What about the lesser known companies?

The forum will combine keynote addresses, structured debate in the form of panel discussions, in-depth topic analysis in the form of sponsor workshops, and a wide variety of social events to maximize networking opportunities.
