The Canada-Latin America Breakfast Meeting 2011
Calgary Chamber of Commerce

March 26th, 2011

Profound changes are taking place in the global economy as economic and financial power shifts from developed countries to emerging markets. Echoing these changes, Latin America’s sovereigns, companies, banks and funds are diversifying their business, the sources of capital and location of their business partners. As part of this process Canada is emerging as a key partner for Latin America by facilitating international business, investment and trade.

The Canada-Latin America Breakfast Meeting, co-hosted by Calgary Economic Development (CED) and LatinFinance will be held on March 26, 2011, at the Calgary Chamber of Commerce Calgary, Canada, on the occasion of the Annual Meetings of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

  • How can Canada’s longstanding expertise and experience in extractive industries – oil & gas, forestry, agribusiness, metals & mining – complement Latin America’s leading sectors?

  • What successful financing has been done between Canada, its financial services industry and corporate Latin America?

  • What opportunities do Canadian capital markets present for LatAm companies or international companies with exposure in Latin America?

  • What investment or co-investment opportunities are there in Canada for Latin American companies?
