Banco do Brasil May Take BESC In Hand

Brazilian state-run Banco do Brasil (BB) may take over the running of the Santa Catarina state bank (BESC), according to a statement issued by the federal bank. Shares in BESC took off on Friday, rising over 46% in trading on Bovespa, on news of the possible takeover.
