Mexican fintech Banco Plata appointed Marcos Kantt to serve as its new CFO, hiring him away from Colombian real-estate platform Habi.
Before joining Habi in December 2021, Kantt spent more than a decade at Bank of America, where he covered financial institutions, fintech and real estate, according to his LinkedIn profile. He previously held several roles at Credit Suisse.
Banco Plata received a banking license last December. Earlier this year, CEO Neri Tollardo was reported as saying it could pursue an IPO in the local market in the medium term.
The bank raised $250 million in a Series B equity round in October last year, valuing the business at $3.1 billion.
