HSBC LatAm equity analysts Pedro Herrera and Anisa Redman have left the bank, according to people familiar with the matter. Lauren Torres is to continue covering Latin American food and beverages, Redman’s sector, and Alexandre Falcao will take over coverage of LatinAm agricultural businesses for Herrera. The moves follow the recent departures of equity analyst Victor Galliano and of LatAm credit head Robert Schmieder. The bank had added Falcao to its LatAm equity research team in January, along with Francisco Schumacher and Sandra Boente.

BBVA Chile Brokerage Swaps CEOs
Mario Duque has resigned as CEO of BBVA Corredores de Bolsa in Chile, the brokerage says. He is heard leaving for a management role at an international food distribution company. Paul Misle, who has served as head of sales for BBVA Chile, takes his spot. Duque had held the role since April 2012, and previously worked as CEO of BBVA Asesorias Financieras.
Esval Names New Leader
Jose Luis Murillo has been named CEO of Chilean water utilities Esval and Aguas del Valle, Esval says. He will step into the role March 11, replacing Francisco Ottone, who has held it on an interim basis since replacing Rodrigo Azocar in November 2012. Ottone returns to his role managing the company’s planning and research area. Murillo has since 2012 been CEO of Spanish transportation and logistics Grupo Sese.
Mexican Development Bank Chooses Head
Rafael Gamboa has been named CEO of Mexican development bank Fideicomisos Instituidos en Relacion con la Agricultura (FIRA), FIRA says. He replaces Rodrigo Sanchez Mujica, who has held the role at FIRA since 2007. Gamboa joins from BBVA Bancomer, where he was director of public finance for Mexico since 2011. Established in 1954 by Mexico’s federal government, FIRA offers credit and guarantees and other services to the livestock, fishing, forestry and agribusiness sectors in Mexico. FIRA’s Fondo Especial para Financiamentos Agropecuarios (FEFA) is an issuer in Mexico’s domestic bond market.
CPFL Energia CFO Resigns
Lorival Nogueira Luz has resigned from his post as CFO of Brazil’s CPFL Energia, the company says. He has held the post since March 2011. The company does not say where he’s headed, beyond that he will be taking on a “new professional challenge.” Gustavo Estrella, who has been with the company for 12 years, most recently as director of planning and control, has been named to fill the role.
Telecom Argentina Names New CEO
Telecom Argentina CEO Frank Bertone is leaving his post, which he has held since March 2009, headed for other work within Telecom Italia, Telecom Argentina says. Stefano De Angelis, director of planning, administration and control at Telecom Italia and a previous group controller, has been named in his place. In 2011, Telecom Italia upped its stake in Telecom Argentina to 21.1% from 18.3%, and also increased its stake in Sofora Telecomunicaciones to 68% from 58%. Sofora is Telecom Argentina’s controlling shareholder.
People: Doebeli heads Lupatech
Brazilian oil services company Lupatech has hired Ricardo Doebeli as CEO, replacing Alexandre Monteiro, who has left the company. Doebeli joins from private equity firm GG Investimentos.
HSBC Analysts Exit
Robert Schmieder, head of LatAm corporate credit research at HSBC, and Victor Galliano, the bank’s head of LatAm FIG equity research, have left the institution, according to sources familiar with the matter. Schmieder had been at the bank since 2010, after holding similar positions at Credit Agricole, Bear Stearns and Santander. Sarah Leshner will now lead LatAm corporate credit coverage. Galliano had been at HSBC since 2004, after working at Falcon Securities and BBVA. Mariel Santiago takes over responsibility for LatAm financials coverage.
Enel Names Chile, Andean CEO
Enel Green Power has named Salvatore Bernabei CEO of its Chilean and Andean operations, the Italian renewable energy specialist says. Bernabei, who joined Enel in 1999, steps into a previously vacant position, says a person familiar with the situation.
Fast Food Operator Picks CFO
Mexico’s Premium Restaurant Brands has chosen Jorge Subirachs as CFO, it says, replacing Edgar Shaadi. Subirachs has spent the last five years as director of financial planning and control for the operator of Yum! Brands in Mexico. Shaadi, who according to LinkedIn, has held the position since October 2010, leaves for an unspecified career change. He had previously worked at Ajegroup and Pepsi.
